Which quality system do you work under?
Production runs under an ISO 9001 quality management system. For you this means dimensional and surface requirements are written into the order, and sample approval and series production are tied to the same requirements.
Which standards are relevant?
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| EN 755-9 | Dimensional and form tolerances of extruded profiles |
| EN 12020-2 | Dimensional and form tolerances for precision profiles in EN AW-6060 and EN AW-6063 |
| EN 573-3 | Chemical composition of alloys |
| EN 755-2 | Mechanical properties of extruded products |
These standards are listed as references. The applicable tolerance standard and class are agreed in the quotation. Where the standard has no equivalent for a dimension, a numerical tolerance is agreed at quotation together with the critical dimensions on your drawing.
How are dimensions and surface verified on your part?
At sample approval you compare the first part against the drawing, and series production follows that approved sample. We mark with you which dimensions are critical and how they will be verified. The process is described under Custom aluminium extrusion.
Why is aluminium a sustainable material?
Aluminium can be recycled repeatedly without losing its properties, and extrusion offcuts and swarf remain usable as the same material. We do not publish company-specific recycling rates or energy figures until they are verified.

Frequently asked questions
Are you ISO 9001 certified?
Yes. Solid Group Metal operates under an ISO 9001 quality management system.
Which tolerance standard applies?
The applicable tolerance standard (for example EN 755-9 or EN 12020-2) is agreed in the quotation. Include the standard you expect and the critical dimensions in your enquiry.
Is aluminium profile recyclable?
Yes. Aluminium can be recycled repeatedly without losing its properties.
